Review of Live Yet Another Day by Niveditha Praveen

Faced with the trials of covid-19, Vibha recalls her journey of love, self-discovery, and friendship.

During the time of the second peak of the pandemic in India, Vibha and Rishi, along with Naira, their daughter, are living their happy lives. However, their worst fears came true when Vibha and Rishi tested positive. Rishi's condition worsened as each day passed, causing Vibha to feel isolated, desperate, and fearful. While she stays in the hospital recovering from Covid-19, she dreams of her past.

A few years ago, when Vibha left her home for the first time, she started a new life as a university student. During her university days, she meets a new group of friends and a man named Rishi. More than three years have passed since they graduated the university and parted ways to pursue their dreams. When they all unite for a lifetime vacation to Goa, they visit various places such as historic sites, museums, art museums, and beaches. During this vacation, Vibha experiences letting go of her fears, strengthening her friendship, and developing her romantic relationship with Rishi.

I liked the book because it represents the reality of having Covid-19. The fear of your situation is worse, to the possibility of losing your loved ones and how compacted the hospitals are during the peak seasons of Covid-19. I also loved how the situation switches from a serious tone to a happier tone as Vibha explores her past. Looking into Vibha's past, I saw that this book is more than a Covid-19 experience book but a book that discusses what's it like to be a modern woman who has traditional parents who want to choose her romantic partners. In contrast, Vibha wants to explore her life and choose her friends and romantic partners. Another part of the book that I liked was the focus. Unlike most romantic books where there is an instant romance between two characters, this book shows us a slow romance between Vibha and Rishi as they both started as friends until they developed feelings for each other.

Although I liked most parts of the book, I was not too fond of the lack of chapters with the pandemic situation. The book's main problem, which was the decline of Rishi's health, wasn't the main focus of the book since only a few chapters were dedicated to it, and the book's main focus was the development of the romance and friendship between the characters.

I would rate the book a 5 out of 5 because I liked the character and how her relationship grew with her friends and how the book's romance developed. I also liked the realistic pandemic in the book and how you could feel Vibha's emotions as she deals with the Covid -19 herself and how she felt when she found out that Rishi's health was declining. I would recommend this to readers who want a more realistic romantic book.
